Man Arrested For Attempted Murder Of Officers Amid Protests

In the midst of protests over the Roe v. Wade decision, a man was accused of trying to kill Los Angeles police officers on Friday night, according to authorities.

According to authorities, a lady was also charged with resisting police after four policemen were hurt due to a barrage of missiles, pyrotechnics, and a homemade blow torch.

According to the LAPD, the chaos started at 8:20 p.m. in Downtown Los Angeles.

According to a press statement on Saturday, Michael Ortiz, 30, is suspected of hurling a homemade flamethrower at an officer, who was treated for burns.

The 23-year-old Juliana Bernado reportedly tried to seize a police officer’s baton. She was hit by a less dangerous gunshot, and she was then arrested, according to the police.

Chief Michel Moore stated, “I condemn the violence against officers that occurred last night and into today.”

“Individuals participating in such criminal activity are not exercising their 1st Amendment rights in protest of the Supreme Court decision, rather, they are acting as criminals.”

The Department will pursue criminal charges against these people aggressively.

Large-scale demonstrations were placed peacefully in most other American cities, big and small.
