Demonic Looking Statue Placed On NYC Courthouse

A new statue with a devilish appearance has been erected atop a Manhattan courthouse.

The 8-foot-tall golden statue, dubbed “NOW,” features a horned woman with a lace collar.

In an effort to pay tribute to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, it was resurrected on top of the First Judicial Department of the State Supreme Court.

Shahzia Sikander, an American of Pakistani descent, created the statue.

After the US Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to an abortion in June, Sikander claimed that that is the reason she named the statue NOW.

The Times published a lengthy article celebrating the new statue, but Twitter users have different opinions.

The statue, in accordance with Sikander, is an “urgent and necessary cultural reckoning underway as New York reconsiders traditional representations of power in public spaces and recasts civic structures to better reflect 21st-century social mores.”

It is the first statue of a woman to be included on the plinths of the courthouse.

The unveiling of the statue did not go over well with social media users, with many well-known Twitter accounts criticizing its message and style.

The new artwork, according to Daily Signal Senior Report Mary Margaret Olohan, bears a “bizarre resemblance” to Satanic imagery.

The statue was compared as a demon and a horrifying civilisation that engaged in human sacrifice by Christopher Bedford, the executive editor of a forthcoming Common Sense Society journal, who discovered it inside an archeological dig.

In June, the sculpture will be taken down and transported to Houston, Texas.
