After being questioned about a recent survey that revealed the majority of Democrats do not want President Biden to run for reelection in 2024, the president grew irritated and approached the reporter.
At the congressional picnic at the White House, the reporter questioned the President, “Mr. President, what’s your message to Democrats who don’t want you to run again?”
While passing by the reporter, Biden suddenly stopped and motioned for the reporter to check the polls and that they want him to run. According to a New York Times poll, about two-thirds of Democrats say they do not want Biden to run for office again, the writer added.
“Read the polls, Jack, you guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me,” Biden proceeded as he cautiously approached the reporter and the camera up close.
The reporter asserted once more that the majority of Democrats do not want Biden to run for president in 2024, but Biden refuted this allegation and insisted that the situation was actually exactly the reverse.
The conversation occurs as a result of multiple polls in the media that suggest Biden is unpopular with American citizens, including members of his own party. The data that Biden and the reporter mentioned comes from a survey done by the New York Times and Sienna College between July 5 and 7.
In this case, the reporter’s estimation that the majority, or around two-thirds of Democrats, do not want Biden to run for president again in two years was accurate. According to the study, a startling 64 percent of Democratic voters believe that someone else ought to assume the presidency in 2024.
Regarding Biden’s figure of 92 percent, while it does appear in the survey, it is unrelated to the topic of whether or not he should run for president in 2024. The figure really refers to the fact that, in a hypothetical rematch against former President Donald Trump, 92% of Democrats would still support Biden.
The survey also revealed a number of more noteworthy insights into the general sentiment of the country toward Biden and his administration.
The research indicates that younger voters are particularly frustrated, with 94% of Democrats under 30 saying they would prefer a different choice. Only 13% of Americans, according to the study, think their nation is headed in the right direction.
