Texas Man Reunites With Mother After He Was Stolen At Birth

After finding that he was abducted at infancy and put for adoption, a 38-year-old man in Texas was reunited with his birth mother.

Tyler Graf was born in Chile and raised in Minnesota by a loving and caring family who adopted him as a newborn. Graf was allegedly born to Hilda del Carmen Quezada, a 26-year-old woman who apparently gave him up owing to financial difficulties.

When Quezada, now 65, gave birth to her son in Temuco, Chile, in 1983, she awakened from anesthesia to learn that her baby had died. She wasn’t even permitted to look at the body.

According to accounts, he was abducted as part of a vast international trafficking network that was organized throughout the world and comprised a network of medical professionals, the Chilean government, and the Catholic Church.

According to Graf’s attorney, Anthony Clarkson, roughly 8,000 to 12,000 children were unlawfully or forcefully adopted in Chile under Augusto Pinochet’s regime in the 1970s and 1980s.

Graf was always aware that he was adopted and had anger toward his biological mother.

Graf, despite his animosity, led a happy life in America, ignorant that he had been trafficked for adoption, and worked as a fireman in Houston with his wife and newborn son.

When a Chilean firefighter came to Houston for a work foreign exchange training years ago, he told Graf that his mother, Marisol Rodrguez, was the founder of Hijos y Madres del Silencio, a Chilean nonprofit that works to reunite families who have been separated by illegal and forced adoptions in the country.

Graf and his his mother both learnt the whole of his tale last year.
