NBA Team Forced To Apologize After Saying Only Women Can Birth Children

For a video they uploaded in recognition of Women’s History Month, an NBA club was forced to retract it and issue an apology. In a video they produced, the Toronto Raptors drew reference to the Beyonce song “Girls Run The World” by asking three different players what makes women “run the world.”

“Girls run the world because they are the only ones that can procreate. They birth everybody,” the Raptors players said.

The video was swiftly taken down after critics called it “misguided and rushed.”

The Raptors were compelled to apologize for the purported lack of “inclusion” in their video.

“We’re an organization that prides itself on doing the right thing when it comes to inclusion and representation, and we made a mistake (Tuesday). Our sincerest apologies to our players, our staff and our fans – we’ll work to do better today and every day after,” according to the team’s statement.

The NBA fined a player in February for declaring he was not homosexual in an interview following a game.

Following the team’s victory over the Chicago Bulls, Cam Thomas, a guard for the Brooklyn Nets, used “derogatory” language, for which the NBA fined him $40,000.

TNT interviewed Thomas and new teammate Spencer Dinwiddie on the court.

In a joke to the media, Dinwiddie claimed that while the Nets may not have acquired the most skilled players, they did obtain the most attractive player in the recent Kyrie Irving deal. In exchange, Dorian Finney-Smith relocated to Brooklyn.

After the game on Thursday night, Cam Thomas responded to a question from TNT regarding Dinwiddie’s remark, “The Nets needed some help in that department. We already had good-looking guys, no homo.”
